You don’t even need to have ever ridden a horse or pony before! Our Pony Club Centres are mostly based at licensed riding schools and have horses and ponies on site.
This means you can feel confident that all coaches are DBS checked, safeguarding trained, First Aid trained and attend regular CPD training to ensure their training methods and knowledge are of a current and high standard.
With over 130 Achievement badges to collect. Starting with our mini badges for younger members up to the advanced level badges for older members working towards their higher-level tests. There is no minimum age to join The Pony Club, you can start riding and collecting your mini achievement badges from as young as 4yrs old!
Your Centre Coach will work with you towards the next Pony Club Test and Progressive awards so you will always know what you need to work on to achieve the next level in your riding.
Everyone in Pony Club also loves to be around horses & ponies so you will make lots of new friends that are interested in the same hobby as you are.
You can be a Pony Club member until you are 25yrs old. The Pony Club higher tests give direct access to BHS exams and are well respected within the equine industry. If you are considering a career in the equine world. The Pony Club is a great starting place and will help you to achieve the skills you need.
The Pony Club supports 9 different sports each with its own pathway, from an introduction to the sport right through to National and International Competitions! Have a look at our activities page to see all the different sports you can get involved in. We offer virtual competition opportunities just for Centres so you can enjoy the buzz of a competition in the confines of your riding school. There are also non-ridden competition opportunities with the Dodson & Horrell Quiz, Blue Cross Horse & Pony Care, Art Competition and Winter Triathlon.
Join the Young Equestrian Leaders Award Scheme and work your way through the levels of Bronze, Silver and Gold and gain volunteering experience both at your Centre, Pony Club event and other equestrian organisations such as Riding for the Disabled (RDA), British Dressage (BD), British Showjumping (BS) or The British Horse Society (BHS).
