It’s easy! Follow the steps below to enter the challenge, and get ready to hack your way to amazing rewards. This is your chance to be part of something big – don’t miss out!
Step 1: Sign Up!
It only costs £5 to enter and entry lasts for 12 months from the second you sign-up. Entry is per rider, so you can take part on multiple ponies under one entry.
Step 2: Track
Every time you ride outside of the arena (on a hack, at the gallops or even on the beach), track how far you ride and record it. Each time you track your ride using Equilab (other apps that measure distance also permitted), and record it on The Hacking Tracker.

Step 3: Submit your miles
When you reach a Milestone (25, 50, 100, 250, 500 or 100 miles), send in your Hacking Tracker as evidence via the form. You will then receive your certificate via email, and your Equilab or Hy Equestrian prize!
Note: The milestones carry on from each other, so when you complete 25 miles, you are then on your way to 50 miles – you don’t have to start again!
Get ready to hack your way to amazing rewards. Submit your progress via the Challenge Tracker form, and upload to our online submission link below and win fabulous prizes.
Q: I ride more than one horse/pony. Do I have to enter more than once?
A: No! Entry is PER RIDER so you can take part on all the horses and ponies you ride. This makes the challenge perfect for our Centre members too who get to ride lots of different ponies.
Q: I’ve only just signed up – can I include rides I did last month?
A: Only the rides you do from the date of signing up count, but you will get a full 12 months from the date you sign up.
Q: I’m struggling to fill in the Hacking Tracker – what’s the easiest way to do it?
A: Filling the tracker in couldn’t be easier! We have now added a PDF version and a Word doc. version:
PDF Version: Best for printing and filling out by hand. Afterward, just snap a picture or scan it when you hit a milestone, then send it in.
Word Doc Version: Works on your computer, so you can type in your Hacks and send it electronically.
Please note: Sometimes the file might be too large to submit via the link – if you get this error message, please send evidence of your Tracker to endurance@pcuk.org
Q: I’ve submitted my Hacking Tracker, now what?
A: Please allow 7 working days from submitting your Tracker to us to receive your certificate via email. At the end of each month, we will send all the month’s results to our generous sponsors, and they will send your prize(s) directly to you. Please ensure that you check SPAM/Junk mail and if emails are landing in here, please mark the email addresses as ‘safe’ to ensure you don’t miss any correspondence.
Q: My 12 months has finished, do I have to start again?
A: Yes. The Challenge is to see how many miles you can complete in a year, so if your 12-month entry to the Challenge finishes, you must start again.
Q: I’m really enjoying all the hacking I’m doing – how can I do more?
A: Try Endurance riding! It’s a great next step. You can find local rides by checking the Event Calendar on Endurance GB (EGB) for National or Pleasure rides near you. Aim for The Pony Club Endurance Championships — no experience or qualification is needed for the Grassroots class. Plus, if you complete 100 miles in the Hacking Challenge, you’re eligible for the Novice class!
