We are really lucky to have The Blue Cross work with the Pony Club to help provide the best training to all members on Horse Welfare and Care. The Blue Cross have kindly set up two webinars to help the Horse and Pony Care competitors not only to prepare for the Championships, but to further their equestrian knowledge, and therefore is open to all!

    • Understand the fundamental aspects of horse welfare through the Five Domains
    • Learn about common horse ailments and how to maintain their happiness and health
    • Discover the principles of learning theory in horse training to improve your techniques

Do you want to compete one day at Horse and Pony Care?

The first thing you need to do is have a look at the Horse and Pony Care website page, this has all the information about levels of competition, format and questions.

You then need to take part in some training, pony club tests and badges to equip yourself with the knowledge needed for Horse and Pony Care. Areas run local Horse and Pony Care competitions as well as the Area Qualifying competitions, so keep an eye out on your branch calendar for any local events taking place.

All of our Horse and Pony Care training resources can be found on the Resource Hub. You will need your Pony Club Number to access this. Once you have logged in, training resources such as past questions, area dates, FAQs and much more can be found by clicking on Members > Activities > Horse and Pony Care.
