Vacancy: Head of Safeguarding

We are seeking an experienced safeguarding professional to provide strategic leadership for safeguarding, integrity and culture across The Pony Club. As a member of the Senior Management Team, this role will ensure we have a robust and continuously improving framework for protecting children, young people and adults at risk, while embedding a culture where everyone feels safe, respected, included and able to speak up.

  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of our safeguarding strategy, policies and procedures
  • Provide expert safeguarding advice and assurance to the CEO, Senior Management Team and Board
  • Oversee safeguarding risk, case-management arrangements and complex escalations
  • Lead safeguarding assurance, audits, reviews, training and organisational learning
  • Provide strategic leadership for the central safeguarding team and Branch and Centre Safeguarding Officer network

Hours: Full-time, 9am–5pm
Location: Hybrid, with time in the Shrewley office
Salary: £60,000–£70,000

Job Description – Head of Safeguarding

Vacancy: Safeguarding & Disciplinary Case Manager

We are looking for an experienced safeguarding professional to join The Pony Club’s central Safeguarding Team. This important role will manage and progress safeguarding and disciplinary cases, ensuring concerns are appropriately assessed, risk-managed, investigated where necessary and handled through the correct organisational processes.

  • Manage and progress allocated safeguarding and disciplinary cases
  • Assess risk, urgency and evidence to determine appropriate next steps
  • Coordinate investigations and gather information from relevant individuals and organisations
  • Prepare clear and objective case summaries and reports for panels and decision-making bodies
  • Maintain accurate case records and identify emerging risks, themes and organisational learning

Hours: Full-time, 9am–5pm
Location: Hybrid
Salary: £40,000–£45,000

Job Description – Safeguarding & Disciplinary Case Manager

Vacancy: Coaching Development Officer

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Coaching Development Officer to support the growth and development of The Pony Club’s coaching workforce. This role plays a key part in delivering high quality coaching and training opportunities, supporting volunteers, coaches and young leaders, and helping to maintain excellent standards across our education and coaching programmes.

  • Support the development of coaches, young coaches, volunteers and Branch and Centre officials
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of coaching conferences, training events and development opportunities
  • Support the Pony Club Coaching Certificate and coach bursary programmes
  • Help ensure quality assurance standards are maintained across tests and coaching programmes
  • Work closely with volunteers, committees, colleagues and external partners to strengthen coaching pathways

Vacancy: Safeguarding Trustee

We are looking to appoint a trustee who is passionate about creating safe, inclusive and positive environments where everyone feels respected and supported. This voluntary role will provide strategic safeguarding oversight and assurance to the Board, helping The Pony Club achieve and maintain the highest standards of safeguarding as part of our 2026–2030 strategy and Centenary Programme.

  • Provide strategic safeguarding leadership, oversight and assurance to the Board
  • Help embed safeguarding across organisational governance, practice and culture
  • Support the Board in identifying and managing safeguarding risks
  • Provide informed challenge and practical advice to the Board and Senior Management Team
  • Chair The Pony Club’s proposed Safeguarding and Integrity Committee

Commitment: Voluntary role, with at least a monthly commitment and additional involvement between Board meetings
