What is the inspiration behind your artwork?
Our team artwork was created by a group of 15 South Devon West members ranging in age from 4 years old to 12 years old. Everyone took part in the making and the setting out. The final presentation was put together by Ellie Rovira (11 years). The adult input was helping very small people with scissors, everything else is child made. A third of this group are neurodiverse and several others have issues with anxiety. Social interaction and being part of a team is hugely important. Everyone felt seen and heard and valued as all hands were included in the final art work.. Theme - our Branch is near Dartmoor and we make memories by riding on the moor so we have made a Dartmoor Pony. We used hands to create the thick mane and forelock of the pony. Everyone drew round their hand and on the palm drew a fun /happy South Devon West PC memory. On the fingers of the hand they wrote words they would associate with that moment. This tied in with the Well Being Badge that we had completed that day.
