Youth Advisory Council

What is the Youth Advisory Council?

Our Youth Advisory Council is a diverse group of Pony Club Members aged between 14 and 25 who meet six times a year to support and shape developments within The Pony Club. The Council has the following aims:

  • To be a representative group of current Pony Club Members with varied experiences of the organisation, including membership type, geographic location and lived experience.
  • To advise the Management Committee and to work closely with Pony Club Staff to amplify the youth voice in matters affecting the interests of Pony Club Members.
  • To ensure The Pony Club is a welcoming, inclusive organisation for young people to join, by providing advice and recommendations on developments within the organisation.

Career Conversations: Insights with Equine Professionals

The Youth Advisory Council organises and hosts this limited series of live webinars for Pony Club Members, with the first webinar held on January 30, 2025. In this session, Members can explore equine career opportunities in London, with our guests answering a range of interesting questions on their profession.

Gain insights from our expert guests: Major Dan McRink (Regimental Veterinary Officer, The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment), Phillip Warren (Former Liveried Helper, The Royal Mews), and Joe Talbot & Ellie Mitchel (Mounted Gunners, The King’s Troop).

Career Conversations – Explore Equine Industry Opportunities

Following the success of our first Careers Webinar: Horses in London, we are excited to continue the series with more insightful sessions focused on various equine career paths.

Planning for all the future webinars is well underway, guests will be sharing their experience in the equine industry and answering intriguing questions from our audience.

Future Webinars in the Series
