Win a place on the Defender Burghley Media Day!
We’re delighted to host a competition offering one lucky Pony Club Member the chance to participate in the Defender Burghley Media Day on Monday 11th August 2025! This fantastic opportunity has been curated by the team at Defender Burghley Horse Trials for individuals with an interest in media and eventing, to hone their skills and learn from industry professionals.
The day starts with a briefing over a media breakfast in the Conservatory at beautiful Burghley House, followed by a guided Defender drive of key fences on this year’s course led by top Course Designer, Derek di Grazia. You’ll then have the opportunity to interview top Burghley riders, the Event Director Martyn Johnson, Burghley Course Designer and more!
The lucky winner will also receive weekend tickets for two (plus parking!) at this year’s Defender Burghley Horse Trials, running from the 4th – 7th September 2025, as well as a Burghley goodie bag!
Sound good? Here’s how you enter! You’ll need to create a video application to include:
- Your name and Pony Club Branch/Centre
- Your interest and background in eventing
- Your future aspirations within media and how you pursue these goals
- Why you think you’d be the perfect candidate to take part in this event
Entry requirements include:
- Videos must use a 9:16 aspect ratio (1080 x 1920 pixels)
- Applicants must be 18 years or older and a current Pony Club Member
- Availability on Monday 11th August 2025
- Happy for us to post your video if you are successful
You have creative control of this application – we want to see how you shine in your element!
You’ll need to send us your video application via email to communications@pcuk.org – if your video file is large, we’d recommend using WeTransfer and adding a link into your email. Entries close Friday 4th July 2025, with winners contacted shortly after.
