825 – Synod Miss Sapphire / owned by Danielle Stancliffe and ridden by Jessica Stancliffe from Lancashire

  • Seven-year-old Jessica Stancliffe rides her mother, Danielle Stancliffe’s six-year-old Welsh Section A pony, Synod Miss Sapphire.
  • Jessica is a member of the Oxenholme Branch of the Pony Club.
  • Jessica loves cantering on Sapphire and has also been to Pony Club camp.
  • The Stancliffe’s have owned Sapphire for six-months.
  • Jessica and Sapphire qualified for the Your Horse Live SEIB Search for a Star finals at Arena UK.

 861 – Coppice Magnum / owned by Jessica Everill and ridden by River Everill from Staffordshire

  • Seven-year-old River Everill rides his mother Jessica’s Shetland pony, Coppice Magnum.
  • River and Magnum are members of the Atherstone Hunt Branch of the Pony Club.
  • River attends Kirdworth Primary School.
  • River and Coppice Magnum qualified for the Your Horse Live SEIB Search for a Star finals at Stoneleigh Park.

835 – Blaenau Daffyd / owned by Sharon Barnes and ridden by Beatrice Whale from Northamptonshire

  • Six-year-old, Beatrice Whale rides Welsh Section A pony, Blaenau Daffyd, known at home as Daffy.
  • Beatrice’s family have owned Daffy for six years – he came along at the same time as Beatrice!
  • Daffy isn’t just out competing at shows, Beatrice’s grandmother Sharon Barnes runs a pony therapy and pony party business, Ollie and Friends.
  • Daffy is regularly out visiting terminally ill children and also does regular hospice visits including Helen and Douglas House Hospice in Oxford.
  • Daffy is a key member of the Ollie and Friends team providing therapy and support.
  • Beatrice and Daffy are members of the Bicester and Warden Hill Pony Club.
  • Beatrice and Daffy qualified for the Your Horse Live SEIB Search for a Star finals at the Pony Club Championships.

837– Letton Sweet Bouquet / owned by Anika Wilding and ridden by Aurora Wilding from Powys

  • 7-year-old Aurora Wilding rides Anika Wilding’s 4-year-old Traditional Cob pony, Letton Sweet Bouquet.
  • Rosie, as the pony is known, has only recently been broken in and she and Aurora have been to a few shows including TOYS, where they were Lead Rein Champions.
  • The Wildings’ bought Rosie to do showing and Aurora hopes to be back next year to do the First Ridden Search for a Star Pony Club class!
  • Aurora is a member of the Teme Valley Pony Club.
  • Aurora and Rosie qualified for the Your Horse Live SEIB Search for a Star finals at Hartpury University.

822 – Treworgan Titanium / owned by Jessica Bowring and ridden by Molly Bowring from Nottinghamshire

  • Known as Teddy at home, Treworgan Titanium is a five-year-old Dartmoor gelding and is ridden by six-year-old Molly.
  • Molly and Teddy are members of the South Nottinghamshire Branch of the Pony Club
  • Jessica bought Teddy as a two-year-old and has also done plenty of showing in-hand with Teddy.
  • Molly’s mum Jessica and Teddy also competed in the Search for a Star In-Hand Mountain and Moorland finals earlier today.
  • Molly and Treworgan Titanium qualified for the Your Horse Live SEIB Search for a Star finals at Vale View Equestrian Centre.

843 – Thistledown Pop Idol / owned by Jane Tucker and ridden by Dottie Tucker from Cumbria

  • Thistledown Pop Idol is ridden by seven-year-old Dottie Tucker.
  • Thistledown Pop Idol is known as Ollie.
  • Dottie really enjoyed the experience of qualifying for the Search for a Star Your Horse Live finals.
  • Dottie and Ollie are members of Cumberland Farmers North Pony Club.
  • Dottie and Ollie qualified for the Your Horse Live SEIB Search for a Star finals at Greenlands Equestrian Centre.

 

1st Ridden

846 – Shilbrook Mr Holly / owned by Heather Hiscox and ridden by Emily Hiscox from Warwickshire

  • 9-year-old Emily rides 17-year-old Welsh section A, Shilbrook Mr Holly.
  • Emily is no stranger to the Search for a Star Your Horse Live Championship having won the Lead Rein finals and then gone on to take the Supreme Search for a Star title here in 2022!
  • Emily is in her first season off the lead rein and Duncan (Shilbrook Mr Holly) is simply amazing!
  • Emily and Duncan like to go fast and do lots of jumping and camp and tiny-tots showing.
  • Emily and Duncan are members of the North Warwickshire Pony Club.
  • Emily and Shilbrook Mr Holly qualified for the Your Horse Live SEIB Search for a Star finals at Vale View Equestrian Centre.

807 – Rhos Elodie / owned by Sam Crutchlow and ridden by Phoebe Crutchlow from Warwickshire

  • 11-year-old Phoebe rides 12-year-old Rhos Elodie.
  • Phoebe and this pony are no strangers to the SEIB Search for a Star Your Horse Live Championships -Rhos Elodie and Phoebe’s mum Sam won the In-Hand Plaited Pony class before Phoebe and Elodie came 2nd in this class last year.
  • Phoebe and Elodie are members of the Atherstone Hunt Branch of the Pony Club.
  • Phoebe and Elodie qualified for the Your Horse Live SEIB Search for a Star finals at the Pony Club Championships.

 

831 – Stonedge Comet / owned by Kirsten Smith and ridden by Noah Smith from Buckinghamshire

  • 7-year-old Noah is the youngest rider in the Search for a Star First Ridden finals.
  • Stonedge Comet is a Welsh Section A pony.
  • Noah is a member of the South Oxfordshire Hunt South Branch of the Pony Club.
  • The Smith family has owned Comet for one year and they have done everything together including cross country, tetrathlon and hacking.
  • Noah and Stonedge Comet qualified for the Your Horse Live SEIB Search for a Star finals at Stoneleigh Park.

857 – Thistledown Edison / owned by Mary-Jo Grant and ridden by Ianna Grant from Ross Shire

  • 9-year-old Ianna rides 15-year-old chestnut roan, Thistledown Edison.
  • Ianna and Edison won the Search for a Star Lead-Rein championship in 2023 and are now in their first season off the lead rein.
  • This pair have done plenty of local shows and BSPS Scotland shows.
  • This pair are members of the Ross-Shire Pony Club
  • Ianna and Thistledown Edison qualified for the Your Horse Live SEIB Search for a Star finals at Arena UK.

 

853 – Weston Candy Girl / owned by Lucy Drummond and ridden by Sofia Drummond from Wiltshire

  • 8-year-old Sofia is a former Search for a Star Pony Club Lead Rein competitor.
  • Sofia rides palomino Welsh Section A, Weston Candy Girl who is known as Candyfloss at home.
  • Sofia took Candyfloss to camp and the pair got to do the Derby arena, and went up the big bank and down!
  • This pair qualified at their third attempt at the Search for a Star qualifiers this year, each time getting closer – 4th, 2nd and then 1st!
  • Sofia and Candyfloss are members of the Beaufort Branch of the Pony Club.
  • Sofia and Weston Candy Girl qualified for the Your Horse Live SEIB Search for a Star finals at Hartpury University.

842 – Telaid Peter Pan / owned by Ali Oliver and ridden by Lucy Oliver from Northumbria

  • 8-year-old Lucy rides 15-year-old Welsh Section A Telaid Peter Pan.
  • Peter Pan is the perfect pony for the first year off the lead rein and Lucy also enjoys hunting and cross country with him.
  • Lucy and Peter Pan are members of the Morpeth Hunt Pony Club.
  • Lucy and Telaid Peter Pan qualified for the Your Horse Live SEIB Search for a Star finals at Greenlands Equestrian Centre.

827 – Bertie Basset / owned by Kelly Brookes and ridden by Layla Brookes from Staffordshire

  • 17-year-old Layla rides 15-year-old Bertie Basset.
  • The Brookes bought Bertie as a yearling so have had him for nearly his whole life.
  • Bertie and Layla have been to the Pony Club Championships in all the disciplines, cross country is his favourite, but they also won the dressage at the Pony Club Champs in 2018 and have been placed 3rd in the eventing too.
  • Layla and Bertie are members of the Wheatland Hunt Pony Club.
  • Layla and Bertie Basset qualified for the Your Horse Live SEIB Search for a Star finals at Hartpury University.

 

850 – Cilsane Dyminiad Helen / owned and ridden by Isobella Carolan-Hall from Nottinghamshire

  • Welsh Section D pony, Cilsane Dyminiad Helen is known as Mouse at home.
  • Isobella has been riding Mouse for three-years. They have been competing in jumping and working hunter classes up to 80 and 90cm.
  • Isobella had an accident last November and was badly concussed. The accident happened not long after she had joined the Quorn Hunt Branch of the Pony Club. Isobella said she has ‘received wonderful support from both the members and volunteers which has really helped rebuild my confidence, our DC Julie Mann has been brilliant’
  • Since their accident, Mouse and Isobella have been focusing on their flatwork.
  • Isobella has just finished a year out working as a Digital-Marketing Intern for the Pony Club, and has now just returned to her last year studying Digital Marketing and Data Analytics at York St John University.
  • Isobella has had a very busy time preparing for Your Horse Live in November with lots of travelling up and down from York!
  • Isobella is a member of the Quorn Hunt Branch of the Pony Club.
  • Isobella and Cilsane Dyminiad Helen qualified for the Your Horse Live SEIB Search for a Star finals at Vale View Equestrian Centre.

848 – Target / owned by Rebecca Carter and ridden by Jessica Carter from South Yorkshire

  • Appaloosa pony, Target is 19-years-old, he is known as Henry.
  • Henry is just amazing! He and Jessica compete mainly in showing.
  • Jessica has had Henry for the last three-years, he came from the next-door village and he even has his own Facebook page for all his previous owners to stay in touch with him and know what he is up to!
  • Jessica and Henry are members of the Grove Hunt Branch of the Pony Club.
  • Jessica and Target qualified for the Your Horse Live SEIB Search for a Star finals at Arena UK.

 

814 – Corringdon Annabelle / owned and ridden by Penelope Lea from Shropshire

  • 13-year-old Penelope is riding 5-year-old Irish Draught mare, Annabelle.
  • Penelope has owned Annabelle for a year.
  • This pair won their first Search for a Star qualifier, only to be sadly disqualified owing to a passport irregularity.
  • Determinedly, Penelope got the passport sorted out and returned to the next Search for a Star qualifier which the pair fittingly won to ensure their appearance here in the main arena at Your Horse Live.
  • Penelope is a member of the North Shropshire Branch of the Pony Club.
  • Penelope and Corringdon Annabelle qualified for the Your Horse Live SEIB Search for a Star finals at Vale View Equestrian Centre.

839 – Brynseion Montague / owned by Sarah Stone and ridden by Emilia Stone from Cheshire

  • 14-year-old Emilia rides 9-year-old Welsh Section B pony Brynseion Montague – known as
  • Monty has been owned by Emilia’s mother Sarah Stone for two-years.
  • Emilia and Monty are members of the East Cheshire Pony Club.
  • Emilia goes to Lymm High School near Warrington.
  • Emilia and Brynseion Montague qualified for the Your Horse Live SEIB Search for a Star finals at Greenlands Equestrian Centre.

Your Horse Live is just around the corner, which means the countdown to Search for a Star is on – with three exclusive Pony Club classes!

Now well into its third decade, Search for a Star is exclusively for amateur riders and owners and is designed to give enthusiastic people a chance to compete at championship shows Your Horse Live and Horse of the Year Show.

The Your Horse Live Search for a Star finals include championships for mountain and moorlands, open veterans and in-hand horses and ponies, including the brand new in-hand heavy horse championship. The inaugural Pony Club Search for a Star championship with classes for lead rein, first ridden and open Pony Club members ran in 2022 and is back even bigger and better this year!
