Fun things to do this Bank Holiday Weekend!

If you’re searching for some

equestrian entertainment

this Bank Holiday weekend,

here are 5 fun Pony Club

related activities to enjoy!☀️

1. Spend some quality time with your favourite equine!

Rest and be thankful.” – William Wordsworth. Take this bank holiday to recharge and appreciate the little moments.

  • A long weekend is the perfect time to give your pony some TLC. Why not get a warm bucket of water and a sponge and treat your pony to a bath. Fingers crossed for good weather!
  • While relaxing, take time to check and clean your pony’s tack and equipment.
  • Spend some extra time brushing and grooming your pony, it’s soothing for both of you and helps build trust.
  • Read a book or listen to music while near your horse, creating a calm atmosphere for both of you.

2. YELA – Volunteering

The Young Equestrian Leaders Award (YELA) is a scheme for young people aged between 13 and 25 who want to volunteer within the equestrian industry.

There are progressive levels to work through: Bronze, Silver and Gold.

The scheme not only recognises the time and effort spent volunteering, but also facilitates young people to gain a range of skills and experiences, setting them up to become leaders of the future.

Get in touch with your local Branch/Centre and ask if they need any help!

Perhaps there’s a local Pony Club event on this weekend you could Volunteer a few hours at to gain some hours towards your YELA?

(Did you know – If you are a Pony Club Member you can register for the Bronze award for free by quoting your membership number in the registration form!)

3. Enter a Pony Club Search for a Star Qualifier!

The 2024 season for the SEIB Search for a Star series kicks off at Stoneleigh Park on the 27th May 2024😍

The Pony Club Search for a Star classes give Pony Club Members the chance to compete in amateur showing to qualify for the championship at Your Horse Live in November. Now in its third year, the Pony Club Search for a Star series is set to build on its success over the first two running’s of the competition, “bringing unique opportunities for future show horses and riders”.

4. How many Pony Club badges can you collect?

Our Achievement badges provide a fun and interactive way for members to develop their knowledge of horsemanship and give them the opportunity to develop the skills to care for Horses and Ponies to the highest possible standards. There are an array of badges in terms of topics and their difficulty level, providing a clear path for progression and ensuring there is something for everyone!
