What is the Postal Shoot?
New for 2021 is the Tetrathlon Postal Shoot competition, which welcomes both novice and experienced members alike to compete for the 2021 Area and National team titles.
The Postal Shoot will run in 2 rounds over several months (April-July) and provide a forum to practise competition shooting.
All entrants must be Pony Club Members and only 1 entry per person is allowed.
There will be 2 distances (7m and 10m) and anyone can enter either but not both. Both distances with have Individual and Team classes, all of which will be mixed gender and age.
Competitors can shoot 1 or 2 handed in the 7m and 1 handed only in the 10m. For 2021 there will be no separate turning target sections.
Teams of 3 team members. Athletes who are in the same Area who aren’t in a team, will be put into mixed teams accordingly.
Round One: Competitors will submit up to 4 targets online, shot individually or in teams. You can do this in your regular shooting sessions or at home, provided it’s safe to do so. Competitors provide their own targets, which must be the official Pony Club target format. The best 3 targets per competitor will count towards the team score.
Single competitors, without a team, are encouraged to enter and will be organised into a mixed team of 3 within their area, to compete on an equal footing with the designated teams. Area rosettes for teams 1-3.
Who Qualifies for Round 2, the National Final?
The best two teams in each Pony Club Area will go through to Round 2, the National Final. And all individuals who have achieved 2700/3000 or more in Round 1.
Round Two: Athletes shoot 20 competition shots, 5 shots per targets during the month of July and submit their scores and target images centrally as per round 1.
Following the closing date (midnight 31st July) the results will be published and our 2021 National Postal Shoot Champions will be crowned, as well as Team and Individual prizes will be awarded for both the 7m and 10m distances.
