What is the Postal Shoot and how do I find out more

What is the Postal Shoot?

New for 2021 is the Tetrathlon Postal Shoot competition, which welcomes both novice and experienced members alike to compete for the 2021 Area and National team titles.

The Postal Shoot will run in 2 rounds over several months (April-July) and provide a forum to practise competition shooting.

All entrants must be Pony Club Members and only 1 entry per person is allowed.

There will be 2 distances (7m and 10m) and anyone can enter either but not both.

Competitors can shoot 1 or 2 handed in the 7m and 1 handed only in the 10m. There will be no separate turning target sections this time, but proficient individuals and teams should consider making it more of a challenge if they have the equipment.

Teams can be up to 3 members. We will rank individuals but there will be no individual prizes.

Round One: Competitors will submit up to 4 targets online, shot individually or in teams. You can do this in your regular shooting sessions or at home, provided it’s safe to do so. Competitors provide their own targets, which must be the official Pony Club target format. The best 3 targets per competitor will count towards the team score.

Single competitors, without a team, are encouraged to enter and will be organised into a mixed team of 3 within their area, to compete on an equal footing with the designated teams.

The best two teams in each Pony Club Area will go through to round 2, the National Final. Area rosettes for teams 1-3.

Round Two: Two teams from each area will use the same procedure as round 1 to determine the top ten National teams, who will all receive a place rosette, and we will crown the 2021 National Postal Shoot Champions.

How do I enter and find out more?

If you want to receive a few more rules and/ or enter please email PonyClubPostalShoot@gmail.com, to receive information on how to start competing.

Each person entering needs to email for an entry and the individuals details will be held for correspondence purposes. You don't need a team to enter, you can add a team after entry or we will suggest a mixed team from that Area.

Most of us have not shot for a while so for a reminder of safety whilst participating check out the video below.
