Brecon and Talybont Hunt Homepage

This branch was formed in 1956 and is part of Area 10. Crickhowell and Monmouth are our nearest neighbours.

It's a small branch with membership varying between 60 and 80. Most rallies will see attendance of between 25 and 35 so children are generally able to ride in groups of 5 to 7 contemporaries with a similar level of ability.

We cover most Pony Club disciplines but would admit to tetrathlon, hunter trials, show-jumping and eventing being stronger than mounted games. Polocrosse is increasingly popular.

Are we competitive? Only if you want to be. We take our fun reasonably seriously; we like to see children learn to ride well and to become confident and at home in the saddle. If that means they want to compete with the branch teams, that's great.

In most years, one or more of our teams will qualify for the Novice and/or National Championships, and we have some very successful tetrathletes competing at levels from Mini to Senior.
The atmosphere at Brecon is both relaxed and welcoming so if you are new to the area, or to ponies, come and talk to us.
