Kirkenny 2005 Area Eventing hosted by the Route

The last two weekends have been busy but successful for members of the Route Hunt Branch of the Pony Club.

On Friday 29^th July, many members took part in the Lawnflight Area 17 (Northern Ireland)

Eventing Competition at Kirkenny, Ballymena involving dressage, showjumping and cross country. Pride of place went to the Traynor brothers, Christopher and Joseph and Valerie Ann McMillan who each fought off stiff competition from competitors from all over the province to record “first places”. The three young riders returned outstanding dressage scores early in the day and complemented this with excellent performances in the other disciplines to come out on top in their respective classes. Christoper was part of the winning seniors team (class A) competition which also comprised Ailanore Harper and Philippa Leverty who now have the opportunity to represent area 17 at Sansaw.
Valerie Ann and Joseph were also members of a winning team (Class B) who together with Alex Houston and Emma Louise Murray won through to represent the area in Chester. The other Class B team of Orlagh Daly, Claire McCluskey, Lesley Davis and Carly Hegarty rode well to finish 3rd in the class. In Class C, Rosie Alcorn, Anna White, Sophie Hamilton and Aine McPeake finished a credible 5th.
