Over the Summer, the Route Hunt Branch of the Pony Club met every Tuesday evening at Williamsons farm at Ballyvelton Road to receive training in Show Jumping, Cross Country and Dressage. The members thoroughly enjoyed some great fun and training, not to mention super Burgers cooked by Vicky Cameron-Mitchell. Thanks Vicky! The members, parents and committee members of the Branch would like to thank all those who helped out in any way, to make this Summer one of the best ever, But special thanks go to Robinson Williamson for the kind use of his Field (and taking the sheep out every Tuesday night), Linda Leslie from Stonebridge Premium Feeds for sponsoring the fantastic Prizes, Fiona Thompson for her excellent instruction, Elizabeth McMillen, for putting the whole thing together and instructing every night and Albert Kane and Fred White for their dedication in making sure that there were jumps set up every week. Over the Summers training, a show jumping league was introduced to let the members put into practice all that they were learning. There were classes to suit all ages and abilities, from the teenies on lead rein, to the older members on horses. The different classes were hotly contended as always. The Summers activities came to an end on Tuesday 31st August with the final jumping classes, a one off pairs jumping speed class and Prize Giving. A special appearance was made by members of the Mid Antrim Branch, who laid on an athletic display of Pony Club Games. Many thanks go out to our Mid Antrim friends, and especially to George Graham, the District Commissioner of the Mid Antrim Branch, for making it possible.
