You are in: Branches / Golden Valley Hunt

The Golden Valley Hunt Branch was established in 1945 by Mrs Hazel Bishop and is part of Pony Club Area 10. Mrs Bishop was the DC until 1970 when Mrs Betty Smith took on the role for five years. In 1975 Mrs Bishop once more stepped into the breach and remained the DC until 2002. Jane Borrick then held the reins until 2004 when she was succeeded by Sue Bridge. Isobel Mills is the present DC appointed October 2007. She was a member of the South Shropshire Branch quite a few years ago! Our president is Revel Guest-Albert and we have been very fortunate to have a terrific base on her farm beside the River Wye as a result of her kind support.
The Golden Valley Hunt Branch has had some very memorable members. To name but a few, Leslie Law, Graham Law, Johnny and Willy Bryan and indeed some of our original members still live in the Golden Valley country, Graham Lloyd, Revel Guest and Nigel Birch.
The Pony Club is the number one organisation for young people who love ponies and riding. There are more than 43,000 Pony Club Members in Great Britain, belonging to either a Branch or a Centre - there are more than 350 of each of these. Membership of The Pony Club offers fun, friendship, training, events and competitions.
Internationally The Pony Club has a membership of over 110,000 across 18 countries, making it the largest association of riders in the world. Most British equestrian medal winners at The Olympics and World Championships have been Members of The Pony Club.
