The Final night of the dressage league was completed happily.

The first class had a good hard core of 6 who fought it out right through the winter, most of them were new to dressage, so the improvement and competition between them was a pleasure to watch.  Well done to you all.
Class 2 was greatly enlivened by including two Dengie Qualifiers, this really brought out the competitive amongst you.  We also had some good entries from other clubs on these nights but we were proud to see that our own members held their own well, and despite strong outside entries, only 1 of the four qualifiers on each night was not a FHPC member.  Good luck to Emma Cheape, Lorna Balfour, Emily Keith, Louise Walker, Paige Faber and David Lawrie at the Area 1.
Class 3 was won by the most consistent, but none-the-less deserviing participant.,  It was nice to see lots of combinations having a go at different stages in their fitness, and the league being used as a good "schooling" ground for many of them in preparation for the coming season.
Finally well done to our league winners:  Chloe Rawcliffe, David Lawrie and Emma Cheape, and Emily Keith and everyone else who took part.

The 2006/7 Winter Dressage League at DABBS finished successfully.  Well done to everyone who took part.  The judge commented on the final night that everyone was very well turned out and approached their tests very professionally, so a lot to be proud of.  Three very happy winners emerged after four sessions of tests.  In the first class we had a tough battle between Katherine Lindsay and Anna Wylie with Honey Bee and Gucci both looking their prettiest throughout, Anna finally won out thanks to builders and other commitments keeping Katherine away, but there was only one point in it in the end, well done both of you, and also special mention to Aniela Henry who was delighted with her first dressage rosette - the first of many we hope.  Jordan Scobie from Glenrothes also did well improving her marks a lot with her second attempt, while Lucy Henry used it as a good schooling ground for her youngster.

In the second class we here have the Keiths to thank particularly for making it a busy competition.  Dixie did the biz with Rosy this time to take second place, being pipped by big sister Emily on her lovely horse Millie, this combination went unbeaten in the series, also taking second place in the third class, so we wish them luck when they hit the British Eventing scene soon.  Rosy did well on all three of her ponies, to be placed second, fourth and fifth, with Lucy Eccles and Vanessa filling the third slot with two good appearances.

In the third class, Kirsty McEwen made this territory  her own, coming back from an off-day in the third session to get enough points on the last night, after winning the first two evenings.  She definitely earned her first prize and looked justifiably thrilled with her achievement.
