In order to represent the Eridge Branch at a tetrathlon, either as an individual or as part of a team, you and your pony must have attended 3 working rallies in the current year (July to July) and one as a combination, as well as attending training. (The 4 day rallies count as two working rallies.)
Copies of the 2008 Pony Club Tetrathlon Rule Book are available from Sally Bowman - all competitors should have a copy.
Cross Country
It is a requirement of the Branch that, if you wish to compete at a tetrathlon, you must have attended at least one cross country practice during the current calendar year on the pony you intend competing on. The practice must have been organised by the Branch and the instructors will make sure that it is safe for you to enter a competition.
Heights vary between competitions but, as a general rule, the Juniors (under 15 on 1st Jan) are expected to jump 29 30, the Minis (under 12 on 1st Jan) 26 and the Mini Minis (under 10 on 1st Jan, except for Eridge where its under 11 on the day of the competition) approx. 20 usually in an enclosed area. The Juniors and Minis usually have a gate to open and close mounted, and a slip rail to open and close unmounted (the Minis may have their pony held). Some competitions will allow competitors to jump the lower height course, deducting marks from the overall riding score.
